FAQs

About the brand change

Are you The Printery House or Altar + Home?
We recently changed our name from The Printery House to Altar + Home by Conception Abbey. This change reflects our mission and honors our heritage. Read our story here.

Why Altar + Home?
Altar and Home is the publication that first began The Printery House back in the 1930s. The very core of what we do is support the lives of the monks of Conception Abbey, and we want what we do to reflect their lives of prayer and service to the Church.

It seems like a lot is changing. What is staying the same?
Not changing, but focusing. Our goal is to share with you our Catholic faith and Benedictine spirituality. The offerings will grow and change over time, nothing happens overnight. You can expect the same outstanding customer service, friendly faces, and dedication to quality products you've always known from The Printery House to continue in Altar + Home.

Will you still personalize, imprint, and mail cards?
Yes! With the new site, we are still working on this process. However, to begin your personalization process now, you can email sales@altarandhome.org to get started.

I don't see something I've selected before. Can you help me find it?
If you're having a hard time finding an item for purchase, contact sales@altarandhome.org.

About business operations

What are your phone hours?
Our phone hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, civic holidays and some holy days. If you call when we are closed you can leave a message and we will return your call during our normal customer service hours.

Where do I pick up my online order?
If you selected "pick up" in your online order, you can pick up your order between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Altar + Home. The entrance to Altar + Home is the same entrance to the USPS office in the driveway to the west of Conception Abbey's main campus.

Where are your products printed?
Cards, stationery, message blocks, framed prints, icons — almost all our paper products are printed right here at Altar + Home on high quality papers and cardstock. We do all your personalization here too!

What does your business do to protect the environment?
Altar + Home makes every effort to protect the environment by using papers that either contain recycled content or have been purchased from paper mills that practice responsible forestry stewardship. All in-house paper scrap from the production process is recycled.
